Payments · Invoices

Pay An Invoice.

Two ways, both straightforward. Interac e-Transfer costs nobody anything and is the one most people use. Card and bank transfer go through our payment provider on their own secure page. Whichever you choose, the amount on your invoice is the amount you pay. We add no surcharge.

Option 01 · No fee

Interac e-Transfer

From any Canadian bank account, through your own online banking. Nothing to sign up for, no processing fee on either side, and it normally arrives within minutes.

In the message field
Your invoice number. That one line is what lets us match the payment to your job without emailing you to ask.
If your bank asks for a security question
Email us at the same address and we will agree one with you. Never put the answer in the message field: anyone who intercepts the notification can then take the money.
Option 02 · Card or bank

Pay Online

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or a direct bank transfer. Best if you are paying from a business account, from outside Canada, or you would rather put it on a card. You will need your invoice number and the amount.

Pay An Invoice →

Opens our payment provider's secure page in a new tab. The web address will change to theirs: that is correct, and it is the reason no card number ever reaches 3d3d.ca.

Have ready
Your invoice number, the amount, and the billing address the card is registered to. The page asks for the invoice number so the payment arrives already matched to your job.
Cards
Visa, Mastercard and American Express, credit or debit, issued anywhere. Confirmation is immediate and the receipt is emailed to whatever address you enter.
Bank transfer
ACH and EFT from a chequing account, on the same page. It takes a few business days to clear rather than seconds, so pick it for a large invoice that is not urgent and a card for one that is.

Prices are quoted in Canadian dollars, and any taxes that apply are itemised on your invoice. Full terms are at /terms, and what we stand behind after delivery is at /returns.

How billing works

Nothing here is a shopping cart.

Every job is quoted by a person who has looked at your part or your brief, because a part's price depends on how it has to be oriented, how much support it needs and what it is made of, and no cart can work that out from a file name. So there is no checkout on this site. There is a quote, then an invoice, then this page.

  1. 01

    You get a quote

A real number with the material, the finish and the turnaround written next to it. Estimate it yourself first at /quote if you want a figure before you talk to anyone.

  2. 02

    You approve it

In writing, by email. Any deposit on a larger job is named in the quote at this point, never afterwards.

  3. 03

    We make it

And inspect it against the specification we agreed before it is packed. If something is not right, you hear it from us first.

  4. 04

    You get the invoice

With the reference number, the amount, and a link back to this page. Pay it whichever way suits you.

Security

Your card number never reaches us.

No card field on this site

The button above hands you to our payment provider's own domain, where the form belongs to them. There is no card input anywhere on 3d3d.ca, so there is nothing here to intercept, log or leak.

We could not store it if we tried

We never receive the number in the first place. What comes back to us is a confirmation that an invoice was paid: an amount, a reference and a timestamp.

Payment confirmations are verified

The notification our provider sends is checked against a shared signing key, with a time limit and a constant-time comparison, before anything acts on it. A forged or replayed message is rejected.

One habit worth keeping, with us or with anybody: we will never email you asking for a card number, banking details or a password, and we will never phone to ask you to move money urgently. If a message claiming to be from 3D3D does any of that, it is not from us. Forward it to info@3d3d.ca and we will tell you.

Questions

Before you pay.

What currency are your invoices in?

Canadian dollars, always. If you are paying from outside Canada by card, your bank converts at its own rate on the day and may add its own foreign-transaction fee: that is between you and your bank, and nothing is added at our end.

Do you add a fee for paying by card?

No. Our payment provider offers a surcharging feature that passes card processing fees to the customer, and we have deliberately left it switched off. The number on your invoice is the number you pay, whichever route you use.

Do you take a deposit before starting work?

On larger jobs, sometimes. If a deposit applies it is agreed in writing in your quote before anything is made, never sprung on you afterwards, and it comes off the final invoice.

I have lost my invoice number. Can I still pay?

Email info@3d3d.ca and we will resend the invoice. Please do not guess a number: a payment that arrives without one has to be matched by hand, which slows your job down rather than speeding it up.

When does work start once I have paid?

e-Transfers usually land within minutes and we confirm by email the same day. Card payments confirm immediately. Bank transfer (ACH/EFT) takes a few business days to clear, so tell us if a deadline is tight and we will start on the strength of the confirmation.

Can I pay by cheque, cash or purchase order?

Cash in person and cheques are fine for local work: email us and we will arrange it. If your organisation runs on purchase orders, send us the PO number and we will put it on the invoice.

What if something is wrong with the part?

Tell us. Every piece is inspected against the agreed specification before it leaves, and if one does not match, has a manufacturing flaw, or arrives damaged, we remake and replace it at no charge. That is the remedy rather than a refund, and it is set out in full at /returns.

Where is my receipt?

The payment page emails you one the moment a card or bank payment goes through, to whatever address you enter on it. For an e-Transfer, your bank confirms the transfer and we email you a paid invoice once it lands.
