Privacy

3D3D (“we,” “us”) is based in New Brunswick, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It applies to everyone who uses 3d3d.ca, whether you are in Canada, the United States, or anywhere else.

We collect only what we need. When you use our contact or quote forms, we collect your email address and whatever you choose to send us — your message, project files (STL, STEP, photos), measurements, and any other details you provide. We use this information to respond to your inquiry, prepare quotes, and produce your work.

Where we take an online payment, it is processed by a PCI-compliant payment provider (such as Stripe), which collects your payment information directly — we never see or store your card number. The provider's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.

This site measures itself, and we will tell you exactly how. When you open a page we record: the page, the site that sent you here (the site — never what you searched), the rough location of the request as Cloudflare reports it (country, province or state, city), whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop, your browser's language, and — when a request comes from a company network rather than a home internet provider — the name of that network. That is the whole list. There is no cookie, no advertising tag, no Google, no Meta, no data broker, nothing sold and nothing shared, and we never store your IP address.

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set a cookie called __cf_bm for bot management — this is an essential security cookie, not a tracking cookie. If we take an online payment or add form verification, those providers (for example Stripe or Cloudflare Turnstile) may set essential cookies required for that function only. None of these track you across the web.

We share your information only with the service providers needed to do the work: Cloudflare (hosting and CDN), a payment provider where a payment is taken, and Canada Post or a courier (shipping physical orders). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not run advertising trackers.

We keep your quote files for the duration of the project and delete them after completion unless you ask us to keep them on file. Contact messages are retained for up to two years. Analytics data is aggregated and contains no personal information.

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and applicable US state privacy laws (including California's CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can also request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@3d3d.ca — we will respond within 30 days.

If we ever experience a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and you, as required under PIPEDA's mandatory breach reporting rules.

Cloudflare — and any payment provider we use, such as Stripe — are US-based companies. By using our site and services, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States under their respective data protection commitments and standard contractual clauses.

We do not intentionally collect personal information from anyone under 14 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Why we collect it: so we know what to build next, and who we are actually building it for. If most of the people reading our manufacturing pages are in the Maritimes, on a phone, that changes what we make and how we show it. A company network tells us that someone at a business read a page about a service we offer — which is the difference between guessing at a market and knowing one. None of it identifies you personally, and none of it could: there is no name, no email, no account and no cookie in that data.

When you send us an enquiry, we attach a random session identifier to it — the same one attached to the pages you opened in that visit — so the person answering can see what you were reading before you wrote in, and answer you about the thing you actually care about instead of asking you to explain it twice. It is generated in your browser, it is not a cookie, it is not linked to your identity, and it disappears when you close the tab.

There are two separate things here, and it matters which is which. The first is the page count: one anonymous row per page opened, with no cookie, no session identifier, and nothing that can be tied back to you by us or by anyone else. That is a turnstile at a door, it is aggregate statistics, and it runs for every visitor. The second is the session identifier described above — the thing that connects the pages of one visit together. That one only runs with your permission.

How to turn the session identifier off. Three ways, and each works on its own. (1) Say No Thanks in the privacy notice, or use the switch at the bottom of this page — your choice is remembered in your own browser, the identifier is thrown away immediately, and no further page of your visit is connected to any other. (2) Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser: we honour both, and we will never ask you to override them. (3) If you are in the EU, the UK, the EEA or Switzerland — or anywhere we cannot place — it never runs at all unless you say yes first. That is not a setting; it is how the site behaves by default. In every one of those cases the anonymous page count continues, because there is nothing in it to opt out of.

This policy was last updated in July 2026. If we make changes, the updated policy will be posted here with a new date.
