Case Study: Custom Winch Components for Offshore Sailing

A winch is a torque amplifier with salt water in every bearing. When a component goes, plastic feet, handle holders, drum parts on older models, replacements range from discontinued to absurdly priced.

Our process on winch work: measure the original (or its corpse), model it with the failure corrected, then match material to load. Winch-adjacent parts that see real load go in PETG-CF; covers and holders in ASA for the UV. Fit is checked against the actual hardware before anything ships.
